SINGAPORE : The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) has detected melamine in products imported from China.

In a statement on Tuesday, AVA said this product contain milk as an ingredient.

It is Silang - House of Steamed Potato - Potato & Tomato Cracker.

Why oh why?

I think my world has just come to an end; it is that devastating to realise that this innocent looking biscuits has been banned from consumption.

I discovered this delicious biscuits when a friend offered me, and ever since then I’ve been hooked! I even brought it to lecture hall so that I could spread the joy.

Which lead me to my topic, can we ever trust a China product? It seems that they have a reputation of tainting food products. Remember the part whereby the meat found in char siew pau is a mixture of cardboards and pork. And oh, not forgetting the infamous luncheon meat, where traces of banned antibiotics were found.

These were the most recent cases, and I wonder doesn’t China food authorities ever learn their lessons? Is it so hard for them to just export their products in the cleanest form?

I guess only time can tell.
